A 22 year old man recovers £20,000 for car accident

A university student is to receive £20,000 after being involved in a motorway collision

He was stationary in a queue of traffic when the driver of a lorry drove at speed and collided with the rear of his vehicle. The force of the impact was such that he was unable to get out of the vehicle. As a result the fire service was called to extricate him following which he was taken to hospital. He had no memory of the accident.

He sustained a laceration to his scalp and cheek and a CT scan revealed that he had suffered a small subdural haematoma. The injuries led to extensive facial bruising for which he consulted an opinion of a Plastic Surgeon due to being left with a permanent facial scar.

Court proceedings were issued and settlement was later agreed in the sum of £20,000.

A 47 year old man recovers £17,700 for car accident

A Painter & Decorator is to receive £17,700 after being involved in a rear end shunt collision

He was stationary in a queue of traffic when the driver of a lorry drove at speed and collided with the rear of his vehicle. He sustained an injury to his spine which required him to undergo a discectomy operation as an MRI Scan showed that one of his discs was damaged beyond repair. His MRI Scans did however also show underlying degenerative changes, which the accident was said to have exacerbated. The Client, who was self employed, was unable to work following the accident or the operation and therefore suffered a loss of earnings. 

The Client also required a small amount of care and assistance from his wife following the accident and his operation.Court proceedings were issued and settlement was later agreed in the sum of £17,700 for injuries, loss of earnings, Care and Assistance and treatment expenses 3 weeks before the Trial Date.
